Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to Your Most Common Questions About PACE, Training Programs, and Olympic Mission 2036

What is Olympic 2036 Age Categories?
The IOC does not set a universal age limit for the Olympics; each sport’s governing body decides its own requirements. Some sports have minimum age limits for safety, like gymnastics, while others, like Olympic football, have under-23 restrictions. The 2036 Olympics will follow these sport-specific rules.

After registration, athletes are required to participate in sport-specific trials. Each sport’s governing body establishes qualification standards, which may include performance in international competitions, ranking points, and results from national trials. National Olympic Committees (NOCs) then select athletes based on these standards, ensuring they meet the qualification requirements set by the International Federation (IF) for their respective sport.

PACE (Professional Athlete Centre of Excellence) trains kids, sub-juniors, juniors, senior-level athletes, and para-athletes. It is a grassroots athletic development program focused on nurturing talent across all levels while preparing athletes for national and international competitions, including the 2036 and 2040 Olympics.

The PACE (Professional Athlete Centre of Excellence) Premier Development Program is a special talent identification initiative aimed at discovering and nurturing young athletes for the 2036 Olympic mission. It is conducted in registered schools, academies, and coaching centres to identify and train future champions through a structured development plan.
